Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Program
The program aims to prepare military physicians with high scientific and professional competence, committed to medical ethics, and capable of effectively serving both civilian and military healthcare sectors. The curriculum is based on an integrated semester system and adheres to the latest National Academic Reference Standards (NARS) and the requirements of the Medical Education Sector Committees of the Supreme Council of Universities.
🧭 Program Structure
The program is divided into two academic phases:
🔹 Phase I: Pre-Clinical Phase
- Duration: Four academic semesters (Semesters 1 to 4)
- Time Frame: First and second academic years
- Objective: To establish students’ foundational knowledge in basic medical sciences and develop their professional competencies and military discipline
- Academic Content:
- Introductory courses in: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Histology, and Parasitology
- Integrated modules linking basic sciences with clinical applications
- Early introduction to clinical examination skills, communication skills, and fundamentals of scientific research
- Professional support modules focused on ethics, leadership, and discipline
- Foundational military training during the first academic year
🔹 Phase II: Clinical Phase
- Duration: Six academic semesters (Semesters 5 to 10)
- Time Frame: Third to fifth academic years
- Objective: To develop advanced clinical skills and enhance students’ ability to make informed medical decisions across diverse healthcare environments
- Academic Content:
- Transitional modules at the start of this phase to prepare students for clinical practice
- Structured clinical training in core and specialized disciplines, including:
Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia, Oncology, Orthopedics, ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat), Ophthalmology, and Forensic Medicine - Military Medicine Modules: Aerospace Medicine, Diving Medicine, and Field Medicine & Surgery
- An applied scientific research project in the fifth year
- Elective courses and specialized academic tracks aligned with student interests
🔹 Longitudinal Modules (Vertical Courses)
These are taught concurrently throughout the five years of the program and are integrated with the modular teaching structure according to the needs of each academic phase. They include:

- The program is based on the Credit Point System, with a total of 300 credit points distributed over five years
- Each credit point reflects the total student workload (including direct contact hours, self-directed learning, and practical/theoretical assessment)
- Students are assessed through a combination of written exams, clinical evaluations (e.g., OSCE), project work, and professional performance assessments
